UFTAA

Two companies, FIAV and UTOAA, merged together to give birth to the United Federation of Travel Agents Associations (UFTAA) on 22 November 1966 in Rome, Italy. Recognising and understanding the need to unify travel agencies and tour operating services into one federation, UFTAA's birth was primarily to give a 360 degree solution by combining the services of travel agencies and tourism segments.

FIATA

The "International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations", a non-governmental organization, represents today an industry covering approximately 40,000 forwarding and logistics firms. It is recognized as representing the freight forwarding industry by many other governmental organizations, governmental authorities and private international organizations in the field of transport.

The members are not limited to the freight forwarding industry but are also related to industries such as customs, ships, warehousing, consolidation, etc. The FIATA was founded in Vienna in 1926 in around 150 countries.

Kuoni Academy offers training for the IATA/FIATA Introductory Course, which is one of the requirements for accreditation as an IATA Cargo Agent. The Introductory Course takes into account a number of changes in the air cargo industry and the evolution of the industry towards the adoption of the Montreal Protocol.

APETIT - Asia-Pacific Education and Training Institutes in Tourism

The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) established the Network of Asia-Pacific Education and Training Institutes in Tourism (APETIT) in 1997 to promote regional cooperation in human resources development for tourism. Currently, 261 education and training institutes and national tourism organisations in 45 countries and areas are participating in its activities. Kuoni Academy is also a member of APETIT.
