Orphanage Visit by Kuoni Academy Chennai centre

Doe eyes and paradise

Beyond packed roads, over the butterfly flyover and at the end of a narrow lane, lays ‘Paradise’.

Paradise in these parts also goes by the name Assisi Illam, technically a home for orphans but in reality a land of ‘Absolute Love’. The idea behind this trip was for us the fortunate to help the less fortunate, but the Gods had a different plan in mind, topsy turvy was the way to go. What started as a “Help set up a library” for the orphaned children turned into “Help yourselves find Joy”.

31st August 2011, on that faithful day we Kuoni-ain’s experienced absolute bliss , those tiny tots displayed unbound joy not just over the 200 odd books that we had managed to collect but were made ecstatic by the mere presence of visitors alone. Prior to this most of us had experienced the ‘yawning chain’ or the ‘giggle loop’ but then on that very day the whole lot of us were witnesses to the chain reaction of simple love.

A twinkle in the eye of a 5 year old or a toothy grin of a 3 year old cannot be captured in hollow words; one had to be there at that blessed moment seated on the lap of paradise to understand the enormity of the moment, a simple gesture changed us all, simply put, it made us ‘LOVE’ unconditionally.

Kuoni Academy Tourism promotion help desk is being set inside the colleges where KA own students talks to the college students about interesting facts & fiction about the destinations, know how of itinerary planning, tour packages etc. To make the event more interesting, on the spot tourism quiz and games are conducted, giving the college students the opportunity of winning souvenirs from these destinations.

N College, Abhinav College, St. Andrews, R. J. College, Rizvi College of Commerce and the response received from the students is excellent. The event will be on till 15th February 2011.

“It is our collective and individual responsibility to protect and nurture the global family, to support its weaker members and to preserve and tend to the environment in which we all live.” – Dalai Lama
On April 27, 2010, Kuoni Academy, Chennai and the students initiated the World Earth Day activity at Marina Beach near Gandhi statue between 6.00pm to 7.00pm. The students and the faculties of KA Chennai were dressed in green symbolizing ‘Go Green’. The motive of the day was to create an awareness program for the public towards Green Living.

The activity involved free distribution of neem saplings & simpler form of dos and don’ts which can be practiced in their day to day life towards green living. We also got very good support from public and their contribution towards the awareness by writing their thoughts on ‘SAVE EARTH & GO GREEN’ and gave their hand print on the cloth board as a symbol of joining us on the day’s event.
